为深入推进高等教育国际化,提升教师教学科研能力与跨文化交流水平,2024年8月—2025年7月,我校人文与社会科学学院刘玲副教授依托江苏省高校优秀中青年教师和校长境外研修项目,赴美国北亚利桑那大学(Northern Arizona University)开展为期一年的境外研修。访学期间深度融入教育学院(College of Education)、文学院(College of Liberal Arts)两个学院的教学科研体系,广泛参与学术研讨、课程研习与文化传播实践,圆满完成各项研修任务,取得扎实、系统、可转化的丰硕成果,为我校人文社科领域高质量发展注入新动能。
一、研修概况:
本次研修以文学研究、英语教育、儿童文学为核心方向,依托北亚利桑那大学优质学术资源,构建“教学实践+课程研修+科研创新+文化传播”四位一体研修模式。刘玲老师深入参与教育学院、文学院的教学及学术活动,系统学习前沿教育理念与研究方法,并在北亚利桑那大学教育学院及艾尔登山中学开展儿童文学及中国文化教学实践,在国际学术场景中锤炼了专业能力、拓宽全球视野,实现教学能力、科研素养、文化传播能力同步提升。
二、核心成果:
(一)教学实践:参与课程教学践行国际课堂
研修期间,教师深度参与北亚利桑那大学教学工作,参与《英语写作》课堂教学,将中国英语教育经验与国际教学范式相结合,在国际教学场景中展示教学研究方法,获得合作院校师生的积极评价。




(二)课程研修:扎实专业基础、沉浸校园文化
研修期间,系统修习9门核心课程,覆盖美国当代文学、莎士比亚作品与领导力、文学研究方法、文学批评、英语阅读教学、英语社会学、英语写作教学、研究论文写作、研究项目简介等领域,同步参与Academic Integrity、ECI - 402、ECI - 407、ENG - 500 等专题研讨与学术训练。通过沉浸式学习,全面掌握国际前沿文学研究范式、英语教学方法论与学术规范体系,深入理解以学生为中心、探究式、跨学科融合的教学理念,同时,广泛参与教育学院的各类实践展会,了解教学新动向及北亚利桑那大学的校园文化,为我校英语类、文学类课程教学改革、内容更新、方法创新提供坚实理论支撑与实践借鉴。




(三)科研创新:聚焦学术前沿产出优质成果
研修期间,刘玲老师紧盯国际文学与教育研究热点,深耕英语教育、儿童文学等领域,取得多项科研成果:
1. 学术论坛主题发言:2025 年 4 月 17 日,在北亚利桑那大学教育学院访问学者论坛(NAU Faculty Sabbatical Talks)宣讲《儿童能动性与儿童诗歌》(Children’s Agency and Children’s Poetics)论文,分享中国视角下儿童文学研究新思考,获国际同行高度认可。
Abstract
This paper centers on the theme of children’s agency in children’s poetry of the early 20th century in China. Through close textual analysis and historical contextualization, it examines how children’s poetry conceptualizes and represents children’s autonomy, initiative, and participatory power in his poetic works. The study argues that children’s poetics in the early 20th century China places children’s subjectivity at its core, highlighting children’s capacity for independent thinking, active judgment, and creative expression in real-life situations. Rather than treating children as passive recipients of knowledge or moral indoctrination, the poetics encourage children to observe, reflect, and act upon their lived experiences, thus affirming their dynamic role in self-development and social engagement. By foregrounding the idea of children’s agency, this research reveals distinctive agentic insight into childhood and child development, which transcends conventional adult-centered narratives. It further demonstrates how literary practice reshapes the representation of childhood in modern Chinese literature by emphasizing agency, authenticity, and experiential learning. This study contributes to the international conversation on children’s agency in cross-cultural contexts, enriches the scholarly understanding of modern Chinese children’s literature, and offers meaningful implications for contemporary childhood studies.


2. 国际会议论文:2025年6月12日,撰写的《陶行知20世纪早期儿童文学中的进步教育与革命美学》论文在国际儿童文学协会年会会议全文宣读交流,并收录于当年北亚利桑那大学成果网站上,在国际学术平台发出中国声音,推动中外儿童文学研究对话交流。
Abstract
Tao Xingzhi, a visionary Chinese educator and philosopher in the early 20th century, advocated for a progressive “life education” philosophy that recognized the child as the core of educational development while also preparing them to be active agents of the society. This study explores how Tao Xingzhi's progressive pedagogy, as articulated in his Children's Poetics, demonstrates the model of revolutionary aesthetics in children’s literature in the early 20th century China. We argue that by advocating for a holistic, action-oriented approach, Tao’s poetry was characterized by a fusion of active romanticism and revolutionary realism, reflecting a deep commitment to preparing children to be active participants in societal evolution. His work not only transformed educational practices from traditional didactic methods to a more empowering and engaging pedagogy but also played a crucial role in shaping a new social consciousness during a period of significant cultural and political change. The findings of this research contribute to the understanding of Tao Xingzhi's legacy in educational reform and literary expression and suggest that his revolutionary aesthetics reflects the transformative spirit of his time.


3. 译著成果:完成专业译著一部“Selected Correspondence and Speeches of the Great Educator TAO Xingzhi”,搭建中外文学与教育思想传播桥梁,丰富我校学术成果体系。


(四)文化传播:跨文化授课传播中华文脉
此外,刘玲老师主动走进美国当地艾尔登山中学(Mount Elden Middle School),面向美国青少年讲授中国传统文化课程,以文学、艺术、民俗为载体,生动展现中华优秀传统文化魅力,搭建中美青少年文化理解与友谊桥梁,践行文化传播与文明互鉴使命,展现我校教师良好专业素养与文化自信。


本次境外研修,是我校落实国际化办学战略、加强高水平师资队伍建设的重要实践。研修成果兼具学术性、实践性、传播性,为我校人文社科专业课程改革、创新课堂建设提供国际经验,同时密切对接国际学术前沿,拓宽研究视野,也提升了高水平成果产出能力及我校的国际影响力。研修归来,刘玲老师将把国际先进教育理念、研究方法与实践经验全面转化、落地见效:持续深化教学改革,创新教学模式;追踪学术前沿,推进高水平科研项目与成果产出;深耕文化传播,推动中外教育交流合作,为我校人文学科内涵发展、特色发展、高质量发展贡献力量,助力学校国际化办学水平再上新台阶!
